The choice of panel is very important as it determines whether the monitor is responsive enough.
Va display panel.
Va has more advantages over tn panels.
As i mentioned above tn panels owe their popularity to low manufacturing costs however they are also known for being able to deliver much higher response rates than ips or va panels.
Tn ips or va in its different forms.
Va panel manufacturers have tried different techniques to improve the viewing angles of their panels over the years with the goal being a perfect lcd panel with wide viewing angles and deep blacks.
While they have yet to achieve that goal a few tvs have hit the market that try and combine the best of va and ips panels.
This can result in visible color banding and inferior contrast ratios when compared with ips or va panels.
Although most are currently 60hz there are a few that are above 60hz.
Color gamut the range of colors a monitor can display is another area in which tn panels often fall flat.
Flat screens lcd monitors primarily use three different panel types.
Most tn panels are incapable of displaying 24 bit true color and instead rely on interpolation to simulate the correct shades.
Va stands for vertical alignment and is a a type of led a form of lcd panel display technology.
Va panels top out at 200 hz for ultrawide displays however most 16 9 models are limited to 165 hz.
Compared to ips panels va panels have the advantage of higher possible refresh rates.
Ips panels also top out at 165 hz although a 240 hz 1080p option is in the works by lg.
